Happy new year

happy new year to all my friends

let's hope we do not have any cricket controversies this year.

let's hope ganguly performs and outlasts Greg Chappel in Indian cricket.

Let's hope Sachin Tendulkar becomes captain for the next world cup.

Let's hope Dravid is saved to do what he is known to be the best for ... being a wall in test cricket...and let's get better players in the one day format.

let's hope politicians realize instead of their own finances, country's finances are more important.

let's hope, Shahrukh Khan realizes that from hence forth his films need to be bigger than him and he opts for real writers instead of making a paheli of his career from here on.

Let's hope Salman Khan realizes that he is the adonis of bollywood, and will remain so till he is single, all he needs to do is to cut the david dhawan capers out...he should admit even a satish kaushik tere namm that he didn't flaunt so much is what he is better known for today.... Salman Bhai u r the Yul Bryner....only u hvaen't made a single film like him!

Let's Hope people stop running down mushy mushy and glossy films of Yash Chopra & Karan Johar... come on folks it is very easy to make a different film! however to make a hit film with established formula with big stars needs real talent...extremely raw talent...that all these different makers don't possess...give Benegal, Shahrukh, and the script of KANK... we will have a first show flop! so hat's off to the Johar's Chopra's... AND Mansoor Khan...wherever he is today. (Mansoor is the best)

Let's hope the mantle of making films with great character's is not left to be the sole business of Shakespeare...ooops Vishal Bhardwaj.

Let's hope there are no major earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes...katrina or aishwarya hitting us this year...

Let's pray we all become happy, and laugh as much as we did in lagaan...and wish Aamir somehow realizes that period films don't work...but films that connect with audiences hearts work.

Let's hope all your guys dreams come true.

&

God doesn't flinch while he makes them come true.

Happy new year...

Welcome Back Ganguly

It's a right step, Ganguly is back in the side. Time for Chappell to check out his strategies vis a vis Indian attitudes, the very guys who screamed off Ganguly for his sub standard batting, became annoyed at Ganguly's unceremonious kicking off. All of them would now be happy to see him back because his ouster was typical machiavelli politics and Aghata Christie's whodunnit put together.

We all can see where Chappell is heading to...the question now remains whether Dravid is good enough leader...not to long ago in distant past, Ganguly carried Dravid as wicketkeeper just because Dravid wouldn't merit a place in the playing XI otherwise... today thankless Dravid comes across as a opportunist figure who can waylay and jettison anyone just to cling on to the top hat, we have not seen a more insecure captain than Dravid.

Let me predict...this mean man of Indian cricket will resort to make Ganguly open batting... and hope Ganguly succumbs to pace of Pakis. Truly whatever i have seen of Dravid...he surely will resort to such lowliness of human nature...Dravid's shenaghinans need no introduction, remember he robbed Tendulkar of a double hundred when he was just six short!

Let me predict again...whereever Chappell is going to...Dravid would be following him... both will become as forgettable figures of Indian cricket as Azharuddin.

Team India's Captain Sehwag

Virender Sehwag will lead India in the third and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka here from tomorrow after Rahul Dravid was ruled out with gaestroenteritis.

A few months ago, even the best of astrologers & oracles wouldn't have predicted that Sehwag would be leading Team India in 2005...life is funny & uncertain...what happens if Sehwag leads well and India wins. It will be an early pressure applied upon Dravid, and after the bar that has been raised up by the selectors...a couple of bad performances and we can expect Dravid also to get the boot. Sounds idiotic? Well nothing is idiotic in Indian cricket these days...

Nach Baliye Fixing

A couple of guys told me up after reading the praise i had for Varun & Rajeshwari as the innovative acts of Nach Baliye...that the gossip doing round is that this hot favorite pair tanked the semi finals on purpose, as they received huge money from bookies!!!

Heard of fixing on television? Well this is the first, let's face the facts considering the show has been immensely popular, the prize money at stake was decent 50,00,000, the fact that choreographer also would get 20,00,000 was impressive...more than all this winning the show gives such a tag of honor to the contestants...the first champion celebrity couple of India, which would have not only increased the popularity of the winners considering voting would have been in hundred thousands, all this was surely going to increase the star value of couple and they certainly wouldn't compromise it for money!!!

I must say that there are sore losers, few unhappy rival channel folks and motivated individuals moving around the bollywood industry spreading malicious rumors...come on, come on whole world knows that Varun & Rajeshwari would have won hands down...but ...but like always in life, the battle is not usually won by the strongest, nor the race won by the swiftest. Unusual results are common place... so please stop these rumors and give the deserving couple it's due and stop degenerating a show that has carved it's niche in competition with the all prevailing, eyeball grabbing, enthralling K shows.

Nach baliye deserves kudos, Sachin & Supriya deserve to be the first champions...

Stop the fixing rumors yaar...

Nach Baliye....10/10

Getting mind off cricket, Nach Baliye was refreshing, the grand finale is a harbinger for a better and more professional show in future. There was some sheen taken off the grand finale with obvious champions in waiting, Varun & Rajeshwari getting eliminated in the penultimate round. Varun & Rajeshwari were the most inventive, entertaining and graceful performers. Their choreographer was really a class act, having conjured innovative acts, brilliant steps and should have walked off with a trophy fpr the best choreographer like they were awarded to best male & female performers of the eliminated contestents. Anyway it doesn't matter...i agree with Varun he was single handed more brilliant that rest nine put together and we will be hearing more often of him.

A lesson for future performers in this show, while the judges look for chemistery/ biology/ dance/whatever...the fact remains that the audience seeks entertainment. Wonderful, wholesome entertainment was provided by Varun & Rajeswari, Archana & Parmeet and of course Sachin & Supriya...The best dancer on the show was Apoorva Aghinotri, and he will be the first to admit that the x-factor on this show was entertainment...that could be the only reason audience voted him out.

Poonam & Manish never looked deserving to make it to the finals...but boy, their final performance was absolutely great, a good few notches better than Sachin & Supriya, tough luck to them that the audience didn't heed judges advice to base their votes on the performance of the day.

Finally...it would do well to keep the speeches short in the end, a lot of mumbo, jumbo and glibbrish was indulged into...Varun scored a perfect 10 on this count too...he kept it really neat and brief.

To the developers of this show...three cheers..."Nach baliye" That's entertainment...when does the next season start?

Indian Cricket

Most ex- cricketers have termed as "unfortunate" the decision to axe Ganguly, and have on record said the left-hand batsman did not deserve to be treated like this. "This is unfortunate for cricket in general. Ganguly played patient knocks in both the innings of the Delhi Test. He did not deserve such treatment,A cricketer, who has scored more than 15,000 runs in international cricket, deserves adequate number of chances before he is dropped even if he plays badly. And in this case, one cannot justify Ganguly's removal on ground of performance also as he has played well.

I just hope someone files a public interest litigation making More & company, Dravid, Chappel respondents

Selectors need to be axed

To all Indians who have sembelance of self respect & pride, there is a need to unite and show intolerence towards the attitude shown to our national hero, an international icon. The way Indian selectors have axed Ganguly is absolutely wrong, there is no cricketing logic evident in it.

This is a national shame, we don't need this selection commitee, we don't need Greg Chappel...and certainly not senior cricketers in the team who are party to this episode, forget the test victory, forget Kumble's tenner, forget Tendulkar's record breaking ton...this decision has plummetted our self esteem and Indian cricket to lower depths...beware Dravid, Laxman, tendulkar & Sehwag...two failures...you would be next...this is no way to build a team...we are watching disintigration of a cricketing nation by the hands of a few unproved idiots.
