Wake Up BCCI

The rout of India shows that plan A of BCCI has gone awry. World cup is round the corner I sincerely hope BCCI wakes up to the likes of Laxman and Zaheer, and hands one day captaincy to Tendulkar.

Most importantly time to write Chappels Obituary as Indian coach.

Nach Baliye 2

I had nothing but praise for Nach baliye in its first season, this time around the show is terrible. If you will look at my last year blogs I had reserved great praised for Nach baliye, but this year the show has misfired.
  • There are no performers like Sachin & Varun Badola who came up with a innovative act again and again, the dances this time around are pretty repitative and listless
  • Malaika and Saroj Khan are diluted in their chair by they themselves becoming very friendly towards contestants and their criticisms are not reflected in the high scores they deliver.
  • Kunal kapoor was a great anchor, in the seat of judge he is very boring, he needs a script writer to say interesting things
  • The format of making the safe contestent's eliminating the unsafe brace of couple is terrible, like Narayani & gaurav who appeared to be the Rageshwari & varun Badola of the current version were eliminated... shame indeed
  • These sets are very gaudy this time around, very pinkish and yellowish making it look like a stage of a Saharanpur wedding
  • There appears to be a healthy bonding between the contestents, very friendly show, whether on stage or from the audience chairs...its extra warm, extra bonded making things look pretty fixed.
  • The Choreographers are subservient and act reverent towards Saroj Khan, the genuine respect of earlier show has somehow been thrown out of the window.
  • Malaika's dresses are horrible!
Then perhaps there is Jhalak Dikhla jaa, which had a similar concept, lousy contestants, but became a great show because of terrific judges, who are a class apart, and three fine performers in Shweta, Mona and joker of the pack Mahesh.

I bet there wouldn't be any suspenses here, no fake drama like we see in Nach baliye 2 and deserving Shweta Salve will walk away with the crown.

Debacle at Motera

Team India's loss in Motera signals a few things clearly, a few things that I and few other cricket fans have been saying all along... This is not the best team India on field! Just days before I had said India Team would lose to juniors in challanger and voila...it did. No one took a notice...so even if India somehow beats Australia there are few things that need to be taken into account for serious deliberations if we wish to play the right combination for the world cup.
1) Chappel's formula's have gone haywire...we need to sack him, if not, get a guy along with him, we need a strategy coach, Mohinder Amarnath would do just fine.
2) Seriously give Rahul Dravid captaincy classes, he does too many mistakes, like he threw the ball to Ajit Agarkar in the final over when Munaf had two left in him and he was the best on show, goes to show that Dravid is not up to it. I suggest Rahul must go to Kolkata and take serious coaching from Dada.
3) The yardstick applied to oust dada needs to be enforced again, especially in case of Sehwag, he has been given a very long rope, so long that rope has ended so must Sehwag's career as a one day opener.
4) Raina was Ganguly's replacement...well Ganguly is still better choice, but Chappel lost the plot a long time ago and Dravid has been a selfish guy all along, if they have the gall & balls Raina must be booted.
5)VVS Laxman needs to be in the playing XL, team desperately needs a bat like him, he commands a place in one day side in lieu of Dravid who is there simply he is the captain, better make Tendulkar the captain for world cup and get Laxman back.
6) RP Singh, Pathan, Agarkar... none of them are fit to be in the team...when we have likes of Balaji, Zaheer around...

I guess selection people must be nuts...

Henceforth if they do not take the drastic step of changing Dravid as the captain then they should pick the following team

  1. Tendulkar
  2. Uthappa
  3. Laxman
  4. Dravid
  5. Yuvraj
  6. Kaif
  7. Dhoni
  8. Harbhajan Singh
  9. Munaf patel
  10. Zaheer Khan
  11. Balaji
  12. Gautam Gambhir
  13. Sreesanth
  14. Anil Kumble
Let me make one thing apparent for one and all, except Dravid, Uthappa & Kaif everyone else selects themselves...Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar is the guy in hot seat...however I feel like trusting the guy, Vengsarkar was the first autograph I had received of any cricketer so far, in an Irani trophy match in which he rained sixes and fours and barged into Team India soon after, we need him to reveal that very form in picking the team.
